Hi There, I’m Claire!
Oxford Research Fellow, Clarendon Scholar, & Winner of Fully Funded PhD Offers at Oxford & Cambridge.
Hi there! I’m Dr Claire Bergstrom Johnson, a clinical research fellow, academic, educator, & entrepreneur with a DPhil (PhD) in Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Oxford.
My journey to graduate school started with something very personal: my twin sister almost died from a rare autoimmune disease when we were kids. That drove me to aim for postgraduate study at Oxford & Cambridge so I could contribute to research that makes a real difference.
But the first time I applied, I failed again and again. Despite graduating near the top of my class from a global top-30 university, I faced rejection after rejection and felt completely shut out of the process.
When I reapplied with a stronger strategy, everything changed. I secured fully funded offers to both Oxford & Cambridge, won some of the most competitive scholarships available, & went on to complete my doctorate at Oxford with top accolades in 2025. Since then, I’ve won over $500,000 in independent funding to stay at Oxford as a Benson Clinical Research Fellow – with my own salary & funding for research.
Through this, I learned something vital: Oxbridge isn’t about perfect grades, Ivy League backgrounds, or a stack of publications. It’s about knowing how to present your potential, originality, & fit – in a way that admissions committees & supervisors can’t ignore.
That’s why I created Oxbridge Admissions Club in 2023. It’s where I share what I’ve learned – both from my own journey and from dozens of successful Master’s & PhD students across disciplines – to make the Oxbridge process more transparent, accessible, & achievable for brilliant applicants like you.
